AnkleTap is built by Wonder Vision Labs Ltd, a UK limited company. This policy explains what information AnkleTap collects, why, and how it's handled.
Voice recordings. When you record a voice note, AnkleTap transcribes it using Apple's on-device Speech framework. On supported devices, this happens entirely on your iPhone — the audio never leaves your device. Where on-device transcription isn't available, the recording is processed by Apple's own speech recognition service, governed by Apple's privacy policy. AnkleTap itself does not send your voice recordings to any third-party transcription service.
Task and ritual content. Task titles and your answers to the onboarding "anchor" questions are sent to Anthropic's Claude API to generate ritual suggestions and your personal anchor statement. This includes the text of what you type or say — for example, a task title, or your answers about what helps you when you're stuck. No name, email address, or device identifier is included in these requests. Anthropic processes this text to generate a response and does not use it to train their models.
Sign-in information. AnkleTap uses Sign in with Apple as its only sign-in method. When you sign in, Apple shares a user identifier and, depending on your settings, your email address (or Apple's private relay address). On your first sign-in only, Apple may also share your name, which AnkleTap uses to personalise your experience and greet you. These details are stored securely on your device (in the iOS Keychain) to keep you signed in. We never receive or store your Apple password.
Microphone access. AnkleTap requests microphone access so you can record voice notes for tasks, logbook entries, and anchor questions. You can decline this and type instead — voice input is never required.
Subscription and purchase data. Subscriptions are handled entirely by RevenueCat and Apple's App Store. AnkleTap does not see or store your payment details. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier tied to your subscription status — not your name, email, or any other personal identifier.
Your tasks, rituals, logbook entries, and completion history are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is not synced to any AnkleTap server. If you delete the app, this data is removed from your device. Voice recordings used for ritual generation or anchor statements are processed in the moment and not retained by AnkleTap after transcription.
AnkleTap is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of AnkleTap after a change means you accept the updated policy.
